Robert Rankin has been a Reggae/Dancehall DJ and a Bay Area treasure for over 20 years. In addition to spinning memorable club sets full of roots and dancehall gems, Robert hosts a weekly radio show, Solid Foundation, every Friday night from 6 pm to 9 pm on KKUP/91.5 FM.
Besides ruling dancehalls all over Bay Area with Massive Sound International, veteran selector Spliff Skankin hosts The Reggae Express (Tuesday nights, 10 pm-midnight, on KPFA (94.1 FM/kpfa.org) and Jah's Music on Sunday afternoons, 3 pm-7 pm on KFJC (89.7 FM/ kfjc.org)
DJ Sep is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at Dub Mission, one of the longest-running dub, roots reggae, and dancehall parties in the world. Dub Missionmore than 20 years old--has been voted the Bay Area's Best Reggae party three times. In addition to being a club DJ, Sep held it down on Bay Area radio for more than 20 years, starting on college radio station KUSF and later hosting a show on Berkeley's public radio station, KPFA. In 2003, she and producer Shockman compiled Babylon Is Ours: The USA in Dub, a collection of all-exclusive American dub tracks (Select Cuts Records). In 2009, Mochipet's Daly City Records released her remixes (with Jason Short) of "Get Your Dub Wet" featuring Juakali and Mista Chatman. Sep has won a Goldie Award (Bay Guardian) and been nominated for Best DJ (SF Weekly Music Awards). She has spun at HempCon, Silent Disco/Hushfest, How Weird, Sunday Streets and venues throughout California, as well as in London, New York, Vancouver, Washington DC, Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland. Sep has opened for Lee Perry, Sly & Robbie, The Wailers, Culture, Big Youth, Les Nubians, Rachid Taha, Kinky, The Cinematic Orchestra, Mad Professor, Yellowman and many others.
